go with the Mini Cooper
Get the Civic for its incredible reliability and resale value. Get the new Mini, not because many are still on the road, so to see it's kind of a rare sight.
Go with the Civic get less and safer, cheaper and further improvements can imagine you may also want to retain their value better
The MINI is more fun, more style and has a resale value much better than the Civic. You could sell them in a few years, and return the most money. It is somewhat less reliable, but not many problems with my 4 years, MINI.
Honda is very reliable, but also more chance of theft due to their popularity on the street. Chop shops and car enthusiasts. It is also more common and less "special" in my opinion.
I went with the MINI, hands down.

I want to stay with Cooper, because I have a car, like the less common. There are different classes of vehicles, however. A Cooper is probably around 5-10K is more than a Civic.
